Top Flight Leagues: 2015 Predictions

All the top flight leagues in the world are up and running. Many first impressions have been made setting the tone for the rest of the season. We know May 2015 is far from now, but let us make predictions on who will be crowned champions of their league.

This is a tight race between reigning champions Bayern Munich, and back to back champions in 2010, and 2011 Borussia Dortmund. Bayern Munich has the advantage in terms of depth, and quality in players. Bayern Munich does not suffer from injuries as often as Dortmund does. That will be the difference from both these fine squads. Winner: Bayern Munich

La Liga

la-liga-logoLa Liga race has never been more intense since the early 2000’s. We now have three clubs fighting for the championship, and mid table clubs that can cause some noise. Atletico look to defend their crown, and fight off Barcelona and bitter rivals Real Madrid. Real Madrid went out their way in buying world cup stars James Rodriguez, and Toni Kroos. While Barcelona bought the third most expensive player in history Luis Suarez. While all these big money moves made front page news. Atletico has quietly reloaded their squad, and look better than before. Winner: Atletico Madrid

Ligue 1

This is Paris Saint-Germain’s league to lose. The Paris based France brought in David Luiz from Chelsea for a whopping 50 million euros. Boasting the always dangerous Zlatan Ibrahimović leading the attack, a healthy Edinson Cavani, and their rock in defense Thiago Silva, Paris should win the French league. Look for Monaco to try and spoil the fun. Winner: Paris Saint-Germain

Premier League

Premier League
Possibly the most competitive top flight league in the world. There are at least five legitimate contenders that can lift the trophy at the end of the season.  Manchester City, the defending champions seem poised to make it three championships in the last four years. The citizens will have extremely tough competition by the pundit and critic’s choice as favorite Chelsea. Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United with all their blockbuster transfers look poised to make a run at the title as well. This title race may go down all the way to the final day of the season. With so many quality sides, this is truly a tossup. Winner: Chelsea

Serie Aserie_A

The top flight Italian league that has been Juventus dominated the past four years looks like it may be going down that road again. Juventus are almost identical from last year’s winning side. The only drastic change is the management. Other than that, the competition seems all but routine for Juventus. The only side that will cause some damage will be Roma. AS Roma look hungrier than ever, and they finally have Champions League football back which should only give them even more confidence to take down the goliath known as Juventus. Winner: Juventus
