The Beast of the Week: Seahawks Defense

MALCOLMSMITHMVP

This week’s Beast of the Week is the entire Seattle Seahawks defense. The Seahawks just won the Super Bowl in shocking blow out fashion of Peyton Manning’s 13-3 Denver Broncos 43-8.

The Denver Broncos had one of the greatest offenses of all time getting an average of 457 yards a game. Manning broke Brees’ all time yards record in a season (5,477) and Brady’s touchdown record in a season (55).

The Seahawks’ defense shut down this top notch offense by allowing 305 total yards and holding the Broncos to a season low 8 points, and shut them out going into halftime for the first time all season. The Super Bowl MVP was a linebacker for only the 3rd time in history (Chuck Howley; Super Bowl V, Ray Lewis; Super Bowl XXXV, Malcolm Smith; Super Bowl XLVIII). The Seahawks absolutely dominated on defense proving all the critics wrong and also proving that defense wins Championships.
