This week’s BOTW goes to an early favorite for this year’s NFL MVP: Peyton Manning. Although he was the “Beast of the Week” three weeks ago, his performance against the Eagles yesterday was unbelievable. It’s hard to describe his season in one word but it’s inching its way to legendary.
Against Philadelphia, Peyton Manning shredded the Eagles defense by throwing for 327 yards and four touchdowns with a completion percentage of 82.4. In a blowout win at home, Peyton Manning and his numerous weapons dismantled the defense and were also able to stop Chip Kelly’s fast-paced offense.
Already four games into the season, and Manning has thrown for 1,470 yards with a completion percentage of 75 and 16 touchdowns. It’s becoming more of a video game type of season for Manning who has yet to throw an interception – something his brother is too familiar with.
The 37-year-old QB is on pace to throw for 64 touchdowns and 5,800 yards which will be a NFL Record.
Manning is making it look easy; taking apart defenses while the play clock ticks down, throwing the right pass to his various offensive targets. It’s fun to watch how he is dismantling the defensive coordinator’s game plan.
This week, the Denver Broncos are heading down south to take on the Cowboys, and when week 6 comes around…expect to see a massacre at Mile High Stadium as the Jacksonville Jaguars take on Manning’s high powered offense.
Somewhere in America, John Elway is smilin’.
