This week’s BOTW comes from possibly the most surprising team in football thus far in the 2013 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs. Coming off a 2-0 start to begin the season, the Chiefs surpassed their win total of the 2012 NFL season by beating the new look Eagles in a 26-16 victory.
Jamaal Charles led the way with 172 all-purpose yards on the ground and air while rushing for a 3 yard touchdown along the way. The diverse running back is off to a strong start this season after compiling a touchdown in each game this season.
The west coast offense new coach Andy Reid has installed has helped Charles get off to this fast start by really getting him involved in the passing game. Charles is best in the open field with rare lateral quickness and a variation of moves that make defenders look silly week in and week out. If he can keep up this production the Chiefs can be the surprise of the 2013 season and earn a shot to compete come January.
