Fernando “El Nino” Torres is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with on both the international and club stage of soccer. The Spanish star quickly took headlines by storm this past week at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil. After finding the back of the net four times against Tahiti in the blowout win by Spain of a final score (10-0.) Torres made sure his presence was felt early in the tournament and making Spain a heavy favorite to win it all in the month of June.
Torres is developing into of the best strikers in the world with great speed, power, awareness and world-class skill “El Nino” is a nightmare for defenders. The young Spanish star does have the record for the fastest hat-trick scored with 17 minutes that was done in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.
After scoring four times against Tahiti, Torres found the back of the net once more against Nigeria after being subbed in the second half of the match. Don’t be surprised if Torres takes home the Golden Boot award at the of the tournament.Torres has tallied up five goals total in two matches and possibly more to come as Spain takes on Italy in the semifinals of the tournament on Wednesday.
