Possibly facing off for perhaps their last meaningful game against each other is Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. The matchup has been hyped differently than in years past however. The winner of this Sunday has been labeled as the team that can run the ball better.
I am here to tell you that will not be the case come Sunday.
In the two teams meeting on Nov. 24, the Broncos ran for 264 total yards compared to just 89 total rushing yards for the Patriots. Even though the Broncos controlled the ball for most of the game and thoroughly out-gained the Pats on the ground, the Patriots still ended up winning.
Establishing the run will be important for both teams on Sunday, but it is not pivotal for either team considering who they have under center.
I think the Broncos and the Patriots will both attack each other through the air for the majority of the game. The weather conditions are looking rather favorable for quarterback play as well. Tom Brady will try to take advantage of the Broncos ailing secondary with Chris Harris out for the year and Champ Bailey and Kayvon Webster still battling their own injuries. Peyton Manning will be PFM and will use his four versatile wide receiver options and air it out for most of the game ending up in a high scoring battle.
I think the Broncos will come out on top in a memorable game at Sports Authority Field.
