On Saturday the San Diego Padres hosted their annual Fanfest at Petco Park. At the Fanfest, the Padres allow fans to tour the clubhouse, go on the field, throw in the bullpen, meet many of the players, and much more. They do a great job. Most of the Padres players are ready and excited for the season to start.

“This season definitely should be good,” said starting pitcher Tyson Ross. Ross had a pretty good season last year and he says he, “Just wants to have another good year.”

Cory Luebke isn’t going to let his new injury take him down. Luebke hasn’t played since the 2012 season and will now miss all of 2014. Luebke is going to work hard and says, “I’ll be ready,” when he is able to get another chance.

Closer Huston Street is excited about this season. Street talked about the bullpen saying, “It’s good this year and it’s gotta be up there,” when comparing it to other bullpens that he has been a part of.

Nick Vincent is going to be a big part of this bullpen. He hasn’t gotten too far ahead of himself and just wants to, “Stay healthy and get out of Spring Training.”

Overall, all of the Padres are optimistic as they should be. Hopes are high and they should be able to make the playoffs.
