Today I will be going through the Denver Broncos players and coaches. I will let you know which awards they have won, if they have been on Sports Illustrated, if they have scored, or if they made a big defensive play in a playoff game or a big bowl game.

Head coach John Fox has won the AFC West and the NFC South. He has won in every round of the playoffs and is looking for his first Super Bowl win.

Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio won a game in the wild card round when he was the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Peyton Manning has been a great quarterback not just in the NFL, but in high school and college as well. In high school Manning was named Mr. Football and Gatorade national player of the year. His award list grew a lot at Tennessee where he won the Unitas, Maxwell, Moore, Davey O’Brien, SEC player of the year, SEC championship MVP and SEC player of the year. Pretty much the only award he didn’t win was the Heisman, but he did finish second to Charles Woodson.

The Indianapolis Colts selected Peyton Manning first overall. In his career between the Colts and the Broncos he has scored touchdowns in every playoff round, has been named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year, won MVP’s and he has led the league in passing yards, passing touchdowns and passer rating. He has also taken home a Turkey Thanksgiving award, NFL Comeback Player of the Year, the Whizzer White NFL man of the year, the Walter Payton award, Pro Bowl MVP and Super Bowl MVP. In his Super Bowl career, he has 580 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Knowshon Moreno was a great running back at Georgia. He won SEC freshman of the year, made the cover of Sports Illustrated and even scored a touchdown in the Sugar Bowl. Moreno had a rough start to his NFL career after being drafted 12th overall in 2009. He was able to have a great season this year. In the divisional round, he led the game in rushing yards and scored a touchdown. He followed that up by being the leading rusher in the AFC championship game.

Backup running back Montee Ball has been impressive so far as a rookie. Like Moreno, Ball is a college legend. He left the University of Wisconsin as the NCAA’s all time leader in rushing touchdowns. He has scored and had the most rushing yards in both the Big 10 championship and the Rose Bowl. He was named MVP of the Big 10 championship game as well. He picked up a lot more hardware as well like the Doak Walker award, the Griffin, and the Big 10 player of the year. That year he led the nation in rushing yards and finished in the top five for the Heisman trophy.

Ronnie Hillman probably won’t play, but he won Mountain West freshman of the year when he played for San Diego State.

Demaryius Thomas has turned into one of the league’s premier receivers. At Georgia Tech he had the most receiving yards and scored in the ACC championship game. He has scored a touchdown in every round of the playoffs except the Super Bowl. He has been the leader in receiving yards in a wild card game and an AFC championship game. This year Thomas led all wide receivers with 14 touchdowns. Tight end Jimmy Graham of the New Orleans Saints had 16. Thomas, the former 22nd overall pick has also been on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Wes Welker has had a very impressive career considering he went undrafted. He has led the league in receptions and has scored touchdowns in both the divisional round and the AFC championship. He has led those games in receiving yards as well as being the leader in the Super Bowl. Welker, who has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, has 18 career catches in the Super Bowl for 163 yards but he has never scored a Super Bowl touchdown.

Andre Caldwell was a magnificent high school football player. He was named the top high school wide receiver by rivals.com and he scored a touchdown in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. At the University of Florida he had some pretty big touchdowns scoring in the SEC championship game, the national championship and the Senior Bowl.

Tight end Jacob Tamme scored a touchdown in the AFC championship. He was also with the Colts when they went to the Super Bowl where he recorded one tackle.

Trindon Holliday is an excellent return man. In last year’s playoffs he scored in the divisional round. He has also led the league in punt return yards.

Last week all five offensive lineman helped lead the Broncos to the Super Bowl. Chris Clark, Zane Beadles, Manny Ramirez, Louis Vasquez and Orlando Franklin are those guys. They have come together and formed a great offensive line. Vasquez was a first team All-Pro this season.

Malik Jackson, a Tennessee alum, recorded a sack in the divisional round.

Shaun Phillips has recorded sacks in the wild card round and the divisional round.

Champ Bailey has finally reached his first Super Bowl. He was the seventh overall pick out of Georgia. He has led the league in interceptions and defensive touchdowns. He has gotten big interceptions in the divisional round and in the Pro Bowl.

Jeremy Mincey got a sack in the divisional round.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has led the league in defensive touchdowns just like Bailey. He has gotten interceptions in the wild card round and the divisional round. He has played in the Super Bowl with the Arizona Cardinals where he recorded five tackles.

Quentin Jammer was drafted fifth overall out of Texas. He had a decent playoff career with the San Diego Chargers where he had interceptions in both the divisional round and the AFC championship game.

Quinton Carter has had interceptions in the wild card and the divisional rounds.

At Florida State Tony Carter got an interception in the Orange Bowl.

After being drafted 18th overall out of Tennessee, Robert Ayers has started to produce. He has recorded sacks in the wild card round and the AFC championship.

At UCLA safety Rahim Moore led the nation in interceptions.

Terrance Knighton recorded a big sack in the AFC championship game.

Kicker Matt Prater has kicked the longest field goal in NFL history which was 64 yards. He has also made field goals in every round of the playoffs except the Super Bowl.

Punter Britton Colquitt has punted in all rounds of the playoffs. He has also led the NFL in punting.

All of these players will be looking to add to this list by making big plays in the Super Bowl.
